We also want to thank Danny Vara, Director of Safety, Frank Herrera, Wyatt Safety manager and Terry Howe, WFS Safety Coordinator. We are happy to report that both Wyatt Field Service and WFS Construction have recently been rewarded for their safety performance in 2014.Wyatt Field Service for one and WFS Construction commitment to safety has resulted into two prestigious safety awards.
WFS Awarded Silver in Major Safety Award
WFS Construction Company was honored to receive the silver medal at the Houston Business Roundtable’s (HBR) 28th Annual Safety Excellence Award on May 15 in Galveston, TX, which featured over 100 companies competing in 14 categories. The award for the category General Contractor – Small was the end result of a long and grueling nomination process that started back in December with our nomination by DuPont, one of our biggest customers over the years. We were thrilled to have gained the long-term trust of DuPont, which has nominated us for the last 3 years in a row. Our Safety Department, led by Terry Howe, picked up from there and worked through the extensive paperwork and audit requirements that followed our nomination. This process gave us an invaluable opportunity to have a fresh set of eyes review our Safety programs and point out recommendations across the board.
The goal of the Safety Excellence Award is not only to recognize the best of the best in Safety performance, but also to promote the sharing of Safety best practices across the entire industry. WFS learned from our mentors, our auditors and even our competitors how to make our Safety programs even better. We walk away from the 2015 competition with pride in our performance and a dedication to making our company even safer for 2016, where we will be “Going for the Gold”!
The South Texas Industrial Industry Safety Excellence Program
On June 9th, both Wyatt Field Service and WFS Construction Company were awarded the South Texas Industrial Industry Safety Excellence Award for 2014, 11 years consecutive for Wyatt and making it the fourth straight year for WFS that they’ve received this prestigious recognition. What an accomplishment! This program recognizes the commendable safety performance of individual contractor companies and serves as an excellent means of highlighting our safety awareness to potential clients. They see that both Wyatt and WFS are dedicated to safety for the long haul and not just as a passing interest. The South Texas awards are intended to convey strong support of contractor safety performance in full recognition of the fact that contractors have the primary responsibility for execution of onsite safety, working in conjunction with the owners. This teamwork is essential in providing a safe work place for all employees...
